Privacy policy

Last updated: [Date — to be set on publication]

The short version: if you subscribe, we collect your email address and use it only to send you our newsletter. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click.

Who we are

This website, longflame.com, is run by LongFlame (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data described here.

Contact: hello@longflame.com
Postal address: [Company postal address — to be confirmed]

What we collect

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. That is the only thing we ask for. You can read every page of this site without giving us anything.

We do not set cookies on this site.

Why we use it, and on what basis

We use your email address only to send you the LongFlame newsletter. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it for anything else.

Our legal basis is your consent. We ask for it twice: after you enter your address, we send a confirmation email, and you are only subscribed once you click the link in it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing.

Who handles it for us

Our newsletter is run by Kit, an email service provider. Kit stores the subscriber list and sends the emails on our behalf. It may process your data outside the UK and the European Economic Area. [Transfer safeguards — to be confirmed from Kit’s data processing terms]

Counting visits

To see how many people visit and which pages they read, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. It gives us aggregate figures, such as the number of page views.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending you emails. If you would also like your address deleted entirely, write to us and we will do it.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also write to hello@longflame.com.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of these, write to hello@longflame.com.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO); in the EU, the authority in the country where you live.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
